[eng] A visit to Wai-O-Tapu Termal Wonderland is something else. It’s truly magical, it’s unearthly and it’s really, really cool. So steamy it was hard to see sometimes! In exchange for 33,50 NZD you have New Zealand’s most colourful volcanic landscape at your disposal. Check out “Devil’s Home”, admire the amazing display of colours all around you, watch the steam dance on the surface above the hot springs, be awestruck by the fantastic Champagne Pool, see and hear the incredible activity of the boiling Mud Pool. And last, but not least, make time for Lady Knox Geyser. But make sure you’re there early, because this lady only erupts once every morning, just after 10. Curious about her very specific eruption schedule? The mystery will be revealed during the presentation at the amphitheatre where Lady Knox has her daily performance. Lady Knox in all her pride and glory. The only drawback about Wai-O-Tapu is the overwhelming smell of fart ;) Seriously, it’s bad, like rotten eggs. The sulphur’s to blame, and all you can do, is hold your breath and point a quilting finger at your travel partner ;) Located only 20 minutes south of Rotorua, it makes for a great day trip. Or ...
